On September 10, Academician Deng Mingjiang of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and Professor Wang Quanju of Xi’an University of Technology led an expert delegation to Beijing Vizum Intelligent Technology for an in-depth visit and exchange. Academician Deng is a leading authority in the fields of water resources, hydropower, and ecological environment, while Professor Wang has deep expertise in ecological agriculture construction and intelligent management. Their visit not only reflects the academic community’s strong attention to Vizum but also provided valuable guidance for the company’s development in intelligent vision and humanoid robotics, opening new opportunities for strategic insights and collaborative innovation.

Firsthand Insights: From Labs to R&D Centers

The delegation began their tour at Vizum’s industrial laboratory, where they observed live demonstrations of intelligent welding, smart grasping, and high-precision 3D imaging across complex industrial scenarios, gaining a direct understanding of the stability and accuracy of Vizum’s stereoscopic vision technology. They then visited the humanoid robot R&D center, where they explored the end-to-end process from core component development to full-system integration and testing. The experts highly commended Vizum’s full-value-chain innovation capability and its holistic in-house R&D strengths.

Thought Exchange: Envisioning the Future of Smart Agriculture

During the subsequent symposium, both sides engaged in in-depth discussions on the future of smart agriculture. Academician Deng emphasized: “Smart agriculture represents a crucial direction for the future of agricultural development, and precise visual perception combined with hand–eye coordination is the very core and soul of robotic operations.” He fully recognized Vizum’s innovative advances in stereoscopic vision algorithms and dexterous hand manipulation, expressing expectations for strengthened collaboration in smart agriculture and humanoid harvesting robot applications to jointly drive agricultural modernization.

Technology in Action: Harvesting Robot Advantages

At the meeting, Vizum CEO Dr. Dong Xiaojian introduced the company’s self-developed humanoid harvesting robot. Featuring a humanoid body with a mobile chassis, the robot integrates Vizum’s proprietary line-laser binocular stereo vision system and intelligent dexterous hand, enabling functions such as precise fruit recognition, flexible posture adjustment, and seamless hand–eye coordination. With a picking accuracy of ±1 mm and a cycle time of just 2 seconds per fruit, it is capable of both surface-level and deep-canopy harvesting. Compared to traditional methods, the robot demonstrates remarkable advantages in efficiency, safety, environmental adaptability, and multi-variety flexible harvesting—bringing smart agriculture closer to widespread practical deployment.

Joint Progress: Shaping a Greener Future in Agriculture

This academic visit not only showcased Vizum’s innovations in industrial intelligence and agricultural robotics but also laid a solid foundation for future university–enterprise collaboration. Moving forward, Vizum will continue to leverage its proprietary core technologies to advance the deep integration of stereoscopic vision and humanoid robotics, empowering smart agriculture across the full value chain. Vizum looks forward to joining hands with partners from all sectors to co-create a new chapter of high-quality, sustainable, and green agricultural development.
