On August 29, the 2024 (3rd) High-Tech Welding Robot Technology and Application Summit, jointly hosted by Gaogong Robot and GGII (Gaogong Industry Research Institute), was grandly held at Shanghai Smart Valley. At the summit, Vizum showcased this flagship product, the ViEye 3D Welding Camera, which quickly drew widespread attention from industry professionals and experts alike. Thanks to its strong anti-interference capabilities, the camera remains stable even in the presence of arc light or direct sunlight—supporting ambient light conditions of up to 480,000 lumens. It can also seamlessly handle various special materials and complex-shaped workpieces, including reflective, absorptive, curved, and round surfaces, ensuring stable, accurate, and fast generation of both point cloud and RGBD data. With a maximum line scanning speed of 3000 lines per second, ViEye maintains high precision throughout high-efficiency welding processes.
To withstand harsh industrial conditions, the camera is equipped with an electric-driven anti-splash protective cover, enhancing both its durability and operational safety. Compact and lightweight in design, it is easy to install and debug, and it can be readily integrated with various mainstream robotic arms—offering a highly flexible solution for intelligent welding.
Notably, the ViEye camera pairs seamlessly with Vizum’s proprietary “Tiger” Platform, a teach-free welding software system that delivers a comprehensive solution. In static mode, the Tiger platform performs workpiece scanning, seam extraction, and supports imported workpiece models—making welding preparation significantly more efficient. In dynamic mode, it enables real-time seam guidance and tracking, allowing robots to complete the entire welding process automatically. A single ViEye camera can manage the full welding workflow, dramatically boosting both productivity and weld quality.
